The MahaDBT Scholarship is Maharashtra government’s flagship program for direct benefit transfer of scholarships to students from various categories including SC, ST, OBC, VJNT, SBC, and Economically Backward Classes.
About MahaDBT
MahaDBT (Maharashtra Direct Benefit Transfer) is an online portal developed by the Government of Maharashtra to provide various scholarships and financial assistance schemes to eligible students. The system ensures transparent and timely disbursement of funds directly to beneficiaries’ bank accounts.
Key Scholarship Schemes
Post Matric Scholarship
For SC, ST, VJNT, OBC, SBC students pursuing education after 10th standard.
Amount: ₹1,000 – ₹30,000 per year
Eklavya Scholarship
For ST students pursuing professional courses like Engineering, Medical, etc.
Amount: Up to ₹2 lakhs per year
Rajarshi Chhatrapati Shahu Maharaj Scholarship
For OBC, SBC, VJNT students from economically weaker sections.
Amount: ₹25,000 – ₹1 lakh
Dr. Punjabrao Deshmukh Scholarship
For VJNT students pursuing higher education.
Amount: ₹2,000 – ₹10,000 per year
Minority Scholarship
For students from minority communities (Muslim, Christian, Sikh, etc.)
Amount: ₹1,000 – ₹25,000 per year
Economically Backward Class (EBC) Scholarship
For general category students with family income below ₹1 lakh.
Amount: ₹5,000 – ₹10,000 per year
Application Process
Registration
New users must register on MahaDBT portal using Aadhaar number and mobile number.
Profile Creation
Complete your profile with personal, academic, and bank details.
Scheme Selection
Choose the appropriate scholarship scheme based on your eligibility.
Document Upload
Upload scanned copies of required documents in specified format.
Submission & Verification
Submit application and wait for verification by institute and department.
Approval & Disbursement
Approved amount will be transferred directly to your bank account.

- Domicile Certificate
- Caste Certificate (if applicable)
- Caste Validity Certificate (for Professional Courses)

- Previous Year Marksheet
- Bank Passbook (IFSC Code required)
- Bonafide Certificate from Institute
- Fee Receipt (for reimbursement schemes)
- Gap Certificate (if applicable)
- Non-Creamy Layer Certificate (for OBC candidates)
- HSC/SSC Marksheet
Important Notes
- Application period is typically from July to October each year
- Renewal applications must be submitted annually
- All documents must be properly scanned and legible
- Bank account must be linked with Aadhaar for DBT
- Regularly check application status on the portal
